A non-profit organization committed to serving churches, charities and the general public, Cupcakes for Christ is an inter-denominational ministry project that emphasizes the importance of building community and serving others.
Our objective is twofold - first, we work to establish small networks of women who love to bake and offer them the tools and resources needed to facilitate their own cupcake-themed Bible study groups. By combining baking cupcakes and studying Scripture, we're able to create a friendly, welcoming environment that stimulates authentic discussion and allows women to learn God's Word in a setting they're both comfortable and familiar with. Not only does this unique approach help create long-lasting friendships and a sense of sisterhood among women within the church, but it enables us to reach out to women who may not feel at ease in a more traditional milieu and encourage them to attend Bible studies as well.
Cupcakes for Christ's other objective is to serve people by baking cupcakes (and the occasional muffin) for them. We encourage our participants to practice random acts of kindness and give away the cupcakes they bake, but as an organization we also practice serving on a larger scale - we bake and donate cupcakes for special charity events and deliver them with a smile, we hand out free cupcakes at community functions, we bring cupcakes to the elderly, to women's shelters and prisons.
We are all about evangelism (aka telling people about Jesus and the Good News of salvation) ... only, we've replaced traditional tracks and pamphlets with a non-threatening way to hear the Gospel and, better yet, to see it in action. Our approach is unique, but completely Christ-centered. Just as Jesus often used food and drink to captivate an audience or prove a point, our cupcakes help draw attention to and spark genuine interest in our message. Randomly receiving a free cupcake may not have an immediate effect on a person's life, but it's sure to cheer them up and hopefully break down any preconceived notions they have about Jesus and the church as a whole.
Our Mission ~
Cupcakes for Christ exists to share the Gospel with non-believers from a tangible, refreshing perspective while simultaneously fostering a sense of authentic fellowship within the local church. We are committed to helping women from all walks of life discover the power of God's Truth and are passionate about using our baking talents to serve our respective communities in unique and innovative ways.
Our Statement of Faith ~
We believe in one living God, who exists eternally in three persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and that all of humanity is in need of a Savior. We believe this Savior is Jesus Christ, sent to die in our place and free us from our sins. We believe that by accepting Christ's sacrifice and welcoming him into our lives we are "born again" - our hearts are transformed, our spirits are rejuvinated, our broken lives are made whole. We believe the Church is a body of believers, not a building, and that it is the duty of the Church to love and serve all people as Jesus Christ loved and served us.
